The civil rights nonprofit had recommended in November for brand advertisers to pause their campaigns due to a surge in hateful posts. Musk blamed the recommendation for the company’s significant decline in advertising revenue and even threatened to sue the ADL. Now, with the ADL returning to the platform, it brings a glimmer of hope for X’s efforts to address hate speech and create a safer online environment.
