The Exciting Smartphone Lineup of Realme in 2024

Realme, the popular Chinese electronics manufacturer, is ready to kick-start the year 2024 with a series of exciting smartphone launches. After the successful release of the Realme C67 5G and its 4G variant in India last month, Realme India has announced that they will soon share an update about another upcoming phone. While the exact details remain a mystery, speculations suggest that it could be either the Realme 12 series or the Realme GT 5 Pro, which was unveiled in China in December.

The Teaser Update

On New Year’s morning, Realme India posted a teaser update on X (formerly Twitter), promising to share more information about an upcoming smartphone launch. The post, without giving away any specifics or teaser images, invited users to guess what this update could be hinting at. The post marked January 3, 7.30 AM IST as the potential date for the reveal of a new handset.

Potential Candidates for the Launch

Rumors have been circulating that the update post may be alluding to the highly anticipated Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. Recent sightings of these two phones on the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) website have further fueled the anticipation of an imminent launch. The listings on the TDRA website confirmed the model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840 for the Realme 12 series, strongly suggesting their arrival in the market. Moreover, the listings also hinted at the presence of 5G connectivity in these upcoming handsets.

In addition to the TDRA website, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ have also made appearances on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, hinting at an upcoming launch in India. The high-end Realme 12 Pro+ model was even spotted on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification site. It is important to note that Realme has not yet officially announced the Realme 12 series. However, the company has been dropping hints about a new flagship smartphone with a periscope camera.

Teaser Image of the Realme 12 Pro+

Last week, Realme posted a teaser image on X, raising excitement among smartphone enthusiasts. The image hinted at the launch of a new smartphone with enhanced zoom capabilities in the country. This new handset is speculated to be the Realme 12 Pro+. Tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) went on to repost the teaser image and claimed that the phone would be released either by the end of January or in February. According to rumors, the Realme 12 Pro+ is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset, possibly the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.

Interestingly, the recent update pointing to a January 3 announcement could also be related to the Realme GT 5 Pro. This flagship handset was launched in China on December 7 and boasts impressive specs, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 1.5K resolution display with a refreshing 144Hz rate, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, and a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary Sony LYT-808 sensor. The Realme GT 5 Pro starts at CNY 3,298 (approximately Rs. 40,000) for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, Realme has not yet confirmed a specific timeline for its Indian launch.

Realme enthusiasts have much to look forward to in 2024, with the potential release of the Realme 12 series and the Realme GT 5 Pro. The company’s teaser updates, certification listings, and the excitement among tipsters and experts all point to an eventful year ahead. As smartphone enthusiasts eagerly await the official announcements, expectations are soaring for powerful devices that will push the boundaries of technology and innovation.
