This influx of funds marks a record for Biden’s re-election effort and demonstrates the strong support he continues to have among donors.
The $10 million raised post-State of the Union is part of the campaign’s strategy to build momentum for the general election. With approximately 116,000 donations from 113,000 contributors, the campaign is tapping into a broad base of supporters in its fundraising efforts.
Biden’s early financial advantage over former President Donald Trump is evident in the campaign’s fundraising figures. With $56 million in the bank at the end of January, Biden’s campaign proper is well-positioned for the road ahead. In comparison, Trump and the Republican National Committee had significantly less on hand.
The Biden campaign is leveraging its financial resources to launch a $30 million, six-week advertising campaign in swing states. The first ad, featuring Biden speaking directly to the camera, highlights his accomplishments as president and draws contrasts with his predecessor.
The campaign’s success is also attributed to its strong grassroots support, with record levels of fundraising achieved in each of the past four months. As the President highlighted in his State of the Union address, the campaign’s supporters are motivated to re-elect Biden and Vice President Harris.
