She stated that Trump tends to cozy up to tyrants and dictators like Kim Jong-Un, who are rooting for him because they can easily manipulate him with flattery and favors. Harris emphasized that Trump fails to hold autocrats accountable because he himself aspires to be an autocrat.
In response to Harris’ critique, Trump took to social media to dismiss her as weak and ineffective. He claimed that she had done nothing to prevent tyrants from becoming strong, rich, and powerful. Kelly warned that re-electing Trump would be a mistake and questioned his understanding of service and sacrifice.
Former Secretary of Defense and CIA Director Leon Panetta issued a stark warning about Trump’s isolationist tendencies. He compared Trump’s approach to foreign policy to the dangerous isolationism of the 1930s and emphasized the importance of alliances. Panetta criticized Trump for allowing tyrants like Putin to act with impunity, highlighting a lack of understanding of global dynamics.
