One victim, identified as Jen, decided to speak out for the first time about her traumatic experience while traveling on a train. Jen shared how an offender sat next to her on a busy train and pretended to fall asleep before assaulting her. She explained that the assault lasted for about 15 minutes and recounted the moments leading up to the incident. Jen detailed how the offender’s hand initially rested on her knee before gradually moving further up her thigh, causing her extreme discomfort and panic.
Instead of confronting the offender directly, Jen made the bold decision to notify the British Transport Police and move to a different carriage for her safety. Shockingly, only one in five witnesses of sexual harassment have taken the initiative to report the incident to authorities.
