During the DriEV.Bharat event held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, the company introduced several new technologies designed to accelerate the adoption of EVs and enhance the overall infrastructure. This included the debut of a new charging platform and a project focused on repurposing old EV batteries. Additionally, JSW MG Motor India announced a partnership with Reliance Jio to introduce an innovative in-car entertainment solution that will be integrated into all MG vehicles.
One of the most significant announcements made at the event was the unveiling of eHUB by MG – a platform developed to streamline the EV charging infrastructure by providing a single platform created by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). With eHUB, JSW MG Motor India promises to simplify the process of locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations, making trips taken via EVs hassle-free. The company has partnered with leading providers like Adani Total Energies Limited, BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, and more to ensure widespread access to charging stations. MG’s eHUB is available in 11 languages and offers trip-planning features, making it a user-friendly solution for EV owners.
Another noteworthy initiative introduced by JSW MG Motor India at the event was Project REVIVE. The project aims to repurpose old EV batteries for energy use in schools and community centers, promoting sustainability and efficient resource utilization. In collaboration with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and lithium-ion battery manufacturer Lohum, the company is working to reuse healthy battery components for secondary applications. JSW MG Motor India has initiated a pilot program at a school in Mukteshwar to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of repurposing old EV batteries.
In an era dominated by artificial intelligence (AI), JSW MG Motor India introduced an AI chatbot named eVir as part of its EVPEDIA initiative. The AI chatbot is designed to provide valuable information on EVs, including tools and calculators for cost of ownership analysis, research papers, and government policies related to EVs. This interactive experience offers informative displays, educational videos, and live demonstrations to educate users on the benefits and features of EVs. With eVir, JSW MG Motor India aims to provide drivers with a convenient on-the-go solution for accessing relevant information and addressing queries related to EV technology.
JSW MG Motor India also announced a strategic partnership with Reliance Jio to introduce the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP) in all upcoming MG vehicles in India. This innovative technology stack includes MG Store, an app store for vehicles, and voice commands available in six Indian languages. The MG-Jio ICP enables users to access entertainment, gaming, and educational content while on the go. Additionally, it offers Home-to-Car functionality, allowing users to remotely monitor and control their vehicle’s systems from the comfort of their home. By collaborating with Reliance Jio, JSW MG Motor India aims to enhance the overall driving experience for MG vehicle owners in India.
