The Paint Issue on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Understanding the Causes and Solutions

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 was recently unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event, showcasing its impressive features such as a 7.6-inch primary display and a 6.3-inch outer screen. Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and a 4,400mAh battery, the foldable phone has caught the attention of many tech enthusiasts.

Despite its innovative design, some users have encountered issues with the paint peeling off the body of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Reddit users have shared images showing small sections of paint coming off near the power button and the rear panel’s top left corner.

Samsung has addressed the paint peeling issue by suggesting that it may be caused by the use of third-party accessories, specifically “high-speed third-party” chargers. The company explains that current leakage from these chargers can adversely affect the anodisation of the phone, leading to slight delamination of the paint.

To prevent paint peeling, Samsung recommends users to avoid using incompatible third-party products with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. In particular, the use of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) massagers is highlighted as a potential cause of paint damage. Users are advised to keep the phone away from their body while using these products.

While Samsung suggests using authentic Samsung chargers for the best results, the company also clarifies that third-party chargers from reputable companies that adhere to the Qi standard should be safe to use. It is important to ensure that the charger is of high quality and properly grounded to avoid any potential issues.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 ships without a charger in the box, requiring users to purchase one separately. The 25W adaptor and USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable are priced at Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 599, respectively on the Samsung India website.

In India, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available in three colour options – Navy, Pink, and Silver Shadow. The pricing starts at Rs. 1,64,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with the 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB options priced at Rs. 1,76,999 and Rs. 2,00,999, respectively. The phone can be purchased through the official Samsung website, online retailers, and offline stores.

While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers impressive features and a unique design, users should be cautious when using third-party accessories to prevent paint peeling issues. By following Samsung’s recommendations and using compatible chargers, users can enjoy their foldable phone without any paint damage concerns.
