Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine are set to close this year’s SXSW festival with the premiere of their latest film, The Idea of You. The movie will be available for streaming on Prime Video on May 2nd. The Idea of You, based on a novel by Robinne Lee, tells the story of a single mother who finds herself in an unexpected romance with the lead singer of a popular boy band.
The Plot
In the film, Anne Hathaway plays Solène, a 40-year-old single mother who accompanies her daughter to the Coachella Music Festival. It is during this trip that she crosses paths with Hayes Campbell, portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine, the lead singer of the band August Moon. A spark ignites between them, leading to a whirlwind romance. However, their relationship faces obstacles due to Hayes’s superstar status and the challenges that come with being in the spotlight.
The Idea of You was co-written by Michael Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt, with inspiration taken from Robinne Lee’s novel. The film’s producers include Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Anne Hathaway, Robinne Lee, Eric Hayes, Michael Showalter, and Jordana Mollick.
