Gemini, the popular AI-powered app developed by Google, is introducing a groundbreaking feature that will change the way users interact with their documents. This new feature, called Upload and Analyse Files, allows users to seamlessly upload files for analysis, ask questions, and receive responses from the AI within the app.
How It Works
Users can upload a variety of file formats, including TXT, DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, and more. The AI will then process the content of the file and provide detailed answers to user queries. For example, users can upload long research papers and ask Gemini to summarize specific sections such as methodology or results.
The Upload and Analyse Files feature is not limited to just text-based documents. It also supports tabular data files, spreadsheet files, and documents created in Google Docs. Users can upload up to 10 files at a time, with each file being a maximum of 100MB in size.
Users can access this feature on both the web app and the Android app. To upload a file, users simply need to go to the Gemini app or web app, select the option to Add files, and choose whether to upload from their device or Google Drive. However, enabling the extension is required to upload files from Google Drive.
In addition to file analysis, users can also request customized charts based on data contained in spreadsheet files. This feature is designed to streamline data interpretation and presentation for users who frequently work with data-driven documents.
Subscription Requirement
This new feature is available exclusively to paid subscribers of the Gemini app. Personal Google account holders need a subscription to Gemini Advanced, while those using school or work accounts require a subscription to Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Business, or Gemini Education.
Overall, the introduction of the Upload and Analyse Files feature in the Gemini app marks a significant advancement in AI technology for enhancing document management and analysis. With its wide file format compatibility and ability to handle complex queries, Gemini is poised to revolutionize the way users interact with their digital content.
