The children who were under the care of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital have now been safely discharged home. It is a relief to hear that those who were being treated at the hospital are now in stable condition and recovering from the traumatic events that occurred. The hospital expressed their gratitude to all the individuals and organizations involved in responding to the incident, including the NHS, Merseyside Police, and North West Ambulance Service.

The accused individual, Axel Rudakubana, who turns 18 on the day of the vigil, has been identified as the perpetrator of the stabbings. Judge Andrew Menary KC made the decision to name Rudakubana to avoid any further disturbances in the community. A plea and trial preparation hearing has been scheduled for October 25 at Liverpool Crown Court, with a provisional trial date set for January 20 next year. It is crucial that justice is served for the victims and their families, while also ensuring that the accused receives a fair trial under the legal system.
