The search for bodies in the wreckage of a sunken superyacht off the coast of Sicily has resulted in the recovery of five victims, bringing the total confirmed dead to six. Divers have been utilizing advanced equipment and techniques, such as those developed during the Costa Concordia rescue operation in 2013, to extend their underwater search time. The previous challenge of limited dive time has been overcome with specialized cylinders that allow for dives of up to 20 minutes. Despite hopes of finding survivors trapped in air pockets within the sunken ship, experts are skeptical of the possibility. Divers, equipped with torches, have been scouring the wreckage site for any signs of life.

Simon Boxall, an oceanography lecturer, believes it is probable that any survivors are still within the wreckage or may have been thrown into the sea. The British-flagged Bayesian, a 56-meter luxury yacht, met its unfortunate fate during a storm while anchored near the shore.
