Cities across the eastern United States are bracing themselves for a significant storm system that is set to disrupt weekend plans. New York is also expected to experience the brunt of the storm, with rain starting late Sunday morning and persisting until Monday night. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, coastal Connecticut, and New London County. Wind advisories have also been issued for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, southern Westchester, and most of interior southern Connecticut. Anticipating potential flooding, the New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services has urged residents to be prepared for up to three inches of rain, which may cause flooding in various regions, including the eastern Catskills, southern Capital Region, and parts of Long Island.
