The buzz around Nothing, the UK-based OEM, continues to grow as rumors suggest that the company is working on a new smartphone. Nothing gained attention recently due to security concerns surrounding its Nothing Chats messaging service. While there is no official confirmation from the company, a leak has provided some insights into the possible name and design of the upcoming phone.
According to renowned tipster Sanju Choudhary, the new device could be called the Nothing Phone 2a. Choudhary shared a leaked design render of the smartphone along with its model number, AIN142. The design render displayed a partial look at the phone’s back panel, revealing a dual rear camera unit, Nothing’s Glyph Interface, and a transparent rear cover, which has become a distinctive feature of Nothing smartphones.
While details about the Nothing Phone 2a remain scarce, Choudhary hinted at some possible features. The smartphone is expected to boast a spacious 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a center-aligned hole-punch slot to house the front camera sensor. However, aside from these tidbits of information, not much else is known about the phone or its launch.
Nothing Phone 2a would be the third smartphone from Nothing if the leaked information is accurate. The company had previously released the Nothing Phone 1 in July 2022, followed by the Nothing Phone 2 in July 2023. The Nothing Phone 2, powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and equipped with a 4,700mAh battery and 45W PPS wired fast charging support, gained favorable reviews and quickly became popular among tech enthusiasts.
The Nothing Phone 2 is currently available for purchase in two color options – Dark Grey and White. The pricing of the phone starts at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants are listed at Rs. 44,999 and Rs. 49,999, respectively.
